Software developers are fortunate enough to be allowed to be makers for a living. I am very gratified that there has been a resurgence in making lately, because for so long we in the US seemed to be concerned primarily with convenience and pre-packaged goods. There is a joy in making, in that you take a void and you fill it. Something didn’t exist before; you have a vision; you make something; and now that something is real. Making can be anything — making your own dinner; making a gadget; crocheting, or making a blog. The joy is in the creation
